Technopoly

The Book Technopoly by Postman was a creative, judgmental, bias writer with great ideas about technology. Although sometimes I didn't know where he was going with his ideas for example in chapter 9 when he was talking about Scientism I didn't understand his points. I feel like he was trying to touch more on religion than science. I like his ideas on how Technology doesn't have to be a physical thing. He wrote about how questions and statistics are a type of technology just like computers. Questions have someone think about certain things to create an answer. Statistics place yourself in a category. I Liked how Postman wrote this book as well. Not many people enjoyed the way he spoke, but I felt like he was talking to me. His ideas were good for the most part. there were some areas that I didn't agree with, for example, whenever it came to religion, I didn't agree with mainly because I'm not religious. A lot of times I would have to go back a read a paragraph twice to make sure I understood because of his word choice. Reading the more advanced words did help me in the SAT so it all worked out. I would recommend anyone that was big on identifying technology to read this book. I think some people would use it to benefit their ideas, and others would use it to strengthen their ideas by disagreeing with his. Either way, its a good book.
