Technology Challenge
My tech challenge I accomplished without knowing I accomplished it. I ended up doing Level 4. This means No Computers, or portable electronics, No CD's or cassettes, No Video Games, No Microwaves, and No Fast Food or Take Out. When I was thinking about the challenge before doing it, I thought that it would be really hard to not use the computer mainly because I have an online class that I need to keep up with. I also thought about how it would be without using my I-pod, It is my life, I usually go insane without listening to music. I thought if I kept myself busy, this wouldn't be a problem. If I ended up getting bored, I would most likely crack. I hoped to learn more about myself and how much I rely on technology. I wanted to know how insane I would go without it. I did my challenge on the day of October 17th. I woke up and made myself some breakfast; An egg and cheese mcmuffin. I used no Microwaves to do so. I ate my breakfast and started to do some of my homework before I had to go to work. I accomplished some reading, some make up work, and a little bit of present handouts. I didn't have my plug for my computer so I couldn't use it to do any work that needed a computer. I helped my nana bring up sheet rock to the second floor for nana. I took my shower, and I headed off to work. For the sake of not getting fired from my job I had to use a computer to check people out. I got out of work at 9pm. I went home, and dinner was cooked for me, with no microwaves. I didn't listen to music, I didn't watch any tv, I ended up switching my summer clothes for winter clothes and more homework. I didn't feel at all phased while doing this mainly because I didn't know I was doing it. Although I will admit, if I had my plug for my computer I probably would have went on my VHS class to do work. I ended up being a Level 4 which goes back to the 1950's. I felt pretty proud of myself for accomplishing a tech free challenge. I really didn't need to know anything about the challenge before going into it. It was pretty simple. I don't think I could have done anything harder mostly because of me having to work all the time. I don't think I would have done this if it was a choice thing. I rely too much on computers. There would be no way of me completing a challenge for more than a day mostly because my job consists of computers and I have my online class. I certainly learned that I can do different things that are more useful than to go on the internet and waste time or watch tv.
